Unity of Opposites

Unity of Opposites focuses on the idea of paradox, and glitches are the main elements. The game will start in pitch black with an eerie statue lit up in the center of the scene. Upon exploring around, participants soon encounter a black cube which, upon touch, triggers a cloud of glitch cubes. These glitches make the environment colorful, thus participants come to believe the glitches are “good,” and the pull is to unite them with the dominant feature in the scene: the statue. On the contrary, if participants do so, they will make a “glitch boom” and lose the game. In this sense, glitches are “bad.” These kinds of contradictions happen in layers by different types of game objects having “chemical effects” with each other.
